Terms & Conditions

The following Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by the groomer and/or salon ("Faye's Cat Grooming"). By ticking the consent box on the booking form online, or by proceeding with the arranged appointment following an email sent you with these terms & conditions, you ("the client" or "you") confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions. You also release the groomer from any responsibility related to the grooming process and any medical issues that may arise during or after the service.

Should your cat require veterinary care during or after the grooming service, you agree to seek veterinary assistance and pay any associated fees.

Pricing

All pricing provided in advance of a grooming appointment is a guideline only. During the grooming process, your cat's coat may contain matting or require a different groom than initially requested. These factors may increase the cost of the original quote. The groomer's goal is to ensure your cat's comfort, and any necessary adjustments to the grooming will be discussed with you when appropriate. Best efforts will be made to inform you of any changes before the grooming starts, but unforeseen issues may arise during the process, and alterations may need to be made without prior discussion.

The full cost of the grooming must be paid upon collection/handover of your cat. Payments can be made by cash, card, or bank transfer.

Deposits and Cancellations

No deposit is currently required to secure an appointment, but at least 24 hours' notice is requested for cancellations. If an appointment is cancelled or missed within 24 hours of the scheduled time, a £25 late cancellation/no-show fee will be charged, payable by bank transfer.

Cat Safety

It is my goal to ensure your cat's grooming experience is as stress-free as possible.

Due to the intimate nature of grooming and individual cats' tolerance to stress, strangers, or handling, some cats may become anxious or reactive during the process. If the groomer determines that continuing the grooming service would pose a risk to your cat's emotional or physical well-being, or to the groomer's safety, the service will be discontinued immediately. In such an event, you will be responsible for any services rendered up until that point.

The groomer will take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe and humane grooming experience, using industry-standard safety equipment, such as grooming muzzles, towels and safe holding techniques. You grant permission for the groomer to use appropriate restraints for your cat’s health and safety.

Client Responsibility for Health and Behaviour

It is the responsibility of the client to disclose any relevant health conditions, behavioural issues, or temperament concerns (e.g., aggression, fear of handling, etc.) that may affect the grooming process. If a cat becomes aggressive or too stressed during the grooming session, the groomer may stop the service for the safety of the cat and the groomer. The client will be charged for services rendered up to that point.

Mobile Appointments

Please ensure your cat is indoors prior to the appointment time. A clean, quiet space for grooming is required, ideally without hiding spots (i.e. under heavy furniture). Cat flaps, doors and windows must be closed before my arrival, and your cat should be given access to a litter tray, water and food.

Depending on your cat's temperament the groomer may request to groom your cat alone. However, if your cat is more comfortable with your presence then this will be discussed during the groom.

No children should be present during the grooming, and noise should be kept to a minimum to maintain a calm environment for your cat.

Mobile appointments incur an additional charge of 50p per mile, calculated as a round trip from postcode SP10 3HX.

At the Groomer’s Home (1a Windsor Road, Andover)

Cats should arrive in a secure cat carrier, ideally covered with a blanket or towel at your allotted appointment time. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early or 5 minutes late. If you are expected to be running later than 5 minutes past your appointment time, please contact the groomer on 07900 289329. If you do not arrive or contact the groomer 30 minutes after your appointment time you will be deemed as a “no show” and £25 will be chargeable.

Appointments at the groomer's home are treated as "drop-off" service. You will bring your cat to 1a Windsor Road, Andover, SP10 3HX, the groomer will greet you at the door then accompany you to the grooming room at the back of the property. The groomer will discuss your cat’s needs and provide an estimated time for collection. You will be notified via call or text when your cat is ready for pickup. Please arrive promptly to collect your cat, as delays may cause them to wait too long in their carrier.

Upon collection, payment is due for services rendered either by cash, card, or bank transfer.

Clips and Trims

Matted fur can lead to various skin and health issues, including restricted airflow to the skin, hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections, and the presence of fleas, ticks, or other parasites.

Matted fur is painful for your cat, causing discomfort when moving or resting. In cases of severe matting, the groomer may determine that removing the matting with clippers is the only humane option. De-matting or brushing out the coat may cause excessive pain and discomfort. If your cat's coat is heavily matted, it may need to be clipped very short.

Clipping involves using a short blade close to the skin, which can sometimes result in minor cuts or nicks. While the groomer takes great care during this process, there is always a small risk of injury, especially for elderly, heavily matted or reactive cats. The groomer will advise you immediately if any injury occurs that will require veterinary treatment.

If irritation occurs during the clipping, medicated sprays and powders may be applied to soothe and clean the skin.

Please note clipping your cat’s fur may change their appearance and this could cause initial confusion with other pets in your household. Fur regrowth may also appear differently from the original coat.

Cage Drying

In cases of wet grooms (bath with water and cat shampoo) your cat may be cage dried using safe and industry-standard dryers. Cats will be closely monitored during the entire drying process.

Liability for Medical Conditions

While every effort will be made to ensure the safety and well-being of your cat during grooming, you understand and acknowledge that grooming can, in rare cases, reveal underlying medical conditions or result in unforeseen complications. You agree not to hold the groomer responsible for any injury, illness, medical condition, or death that may occur during or after the grooming process. You acknowledge that your cat is groomed at your own risk, and you are responsible for ensuring your cat is fit for grooming. If any concerns about your cat's health arise before or during the grooming, you agree to notify the groomer in advance and acknowledge that you may be advised to seek veterinary care.

Photography and Video Consent for Advertising/Promotions

By booking a grooming appointment, you grant permission for photos or videos of your cat to be used for promotional or marketing purposes, including on social media, websites, or printed materials. If you do not wish for your cat’s images to be used, please notify the groomer in advance.

Refunds and Disputes
Once the grooming service is complete, no refunds will be issued. However, if you are dissatisfied with the service provided, please notify the groomer within 24 hours of the grooming session to discuss your concerns. Any disputes will be handled on a case-by-case basis, with the aim of reaching a fair resolution.

Force Majeure
The groomer will not be held liable for any failure or delay in providing services due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to illness, accidents, extreme weather conditions, or other emergencies.

Confidentiality
All personal and pet-related information provided will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with third parties without the client’s consent, except as required by law or in the event of an emergency involving the health or safety of the cat.

Grooming Results and Expectations
While the groomer will strive to achieve the best results based on the cat's coat condition and your preferences, certain conditions (e.g., matting, skin issues, temperament) may limit the outcome. The groomer will always aim to provide a high-quality service, but cannot guarantee specific results, especially in the case of severe matting or health concerns.
